We’ve been helping contractors to cut noise pollution from rail and underground works for more than three decades. Our temporary noise reduction barriers stand up to the sector’s rigorous demands – they’re effective, quick to install and are easy to move around. Our durable, lightweight panels can be installed on most structures on the railway and will not deteriorate, even in the toughest conditions.Find Out More
Most track renewal and maintenance work is done to tight timeframes at night and at weekends, to keep commuters and the economy moving. That puts huge pressure on contractors to cut noise disruption and get the job done on time. Echo Barrier’s award-winning temporary noise reduction barriers are the ideal solution for these demanding conditions, the barriers can be installed and removed quickly and with minimum manpower.
Our innovative acoustic barrier technology can reduce noise from rail works by as much as 20dB, a 90% noise reduction. This not only improves conditions for local communities and workers, but allows contractors to increase their site operating hours. The ease and speed of installation also improves site efficiency and allows more work to be delivered in a shorter time span. It takes just one person to install one of our lightweight panels, it’s also quick and easy to reposition them along the track as work progresses. Our barriers never get water-logged, and remain in top condition, no matter what the weather. You can also brand them with your company logo or safety message to promote your work.
Seek our advice at the planning stage to formulate a flexible, easy-to-move noise control solution for rolling rail works. We can also help mitigate any noise issues that arise during the course of rail engineering projects, whether it is for maintenance or new build.
Our barriers can be installed and removed quickly with minimal manpower providing a perfect solution for rail works in constrictive environments and working to tight construction programs.
Our consultants can provide noise abatement solutions to enable all-night rail maintenance work that meets noise regulations – and minimises disruption to train timetables. The Echo Barrier H series are simple to install, move and store providing the perfect temporary noise control solution.
We offer expert advice on optimal erection and dismantling methods for rolling rail works, which maximise speed and ensure safe working practices. We can provide noise reduction solutions that protect workers from excessive noise, yet still allow safe communications on-site so work instructions or safety warnings can be heard and acted on. Our barriers help control dust and debris from rail works, protecting staff, residents and the general public.
To speed up lengthy track improvement works, Earl's Court tube station was closed for 12 days over the 2013 Christmas period. Effective noise control was needed to enable longer site operating hours and make the project a success.
The Track Partnership installed our temporary acoustic barriers and tents to reduce noise and dust pollution. The project finished on time – without a single noise complaint.
The noise problem
Track improvement works at Earl's Court tube station in London had been inconveniencing passengers for years. The Track Partnership planned to close the station for 12 days over the 2013 Christmas period to accelerate the project.
The Track Partnership used our temporary acoustic barriers and tents to create an effective soundproof barrier between the works and the live station sections, to shield commuters and members of staff from excessive noise, dust and welding arcs.
The rapid installation of our barriers allowed works to get underway without delay. The noise control they provided was so effective that the site was allowed to operate for 24 hours each day during the shutdown. Impressively, the Track Partnership did not receive one complaint from passengers or residents. We were asked to provide noise control for similar projects during the 2014 and 2016 Earls Court Christmas blockades. Again, Track Partnership carried out extensive track renewal work without a single complaint.
